NRA Certified Professional Firearms Training in the Iowa and Wisconsin

This four hour course will meet all the requirements for the Iowa Weapons Carry Permit and the requirements for the Utah Non-Resident Concealed Carry permits. You qualify for TWO PERMITS WITH ONE COURSE!! Taught by an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor with over 24 years of law enforcement, teaching, and military experience. Items covered include safe gun handling, basic pistol concepts, carry options, and related Iowa and Utah Law. There is NO RANGE time for this course. NO Weapons or Ammo needed. Course Cost is $90.

Utah Concealed Carry permit packets will be available FREE of CHARGE! Florida Concealed Carry Permit Packets are also available for those with prior Military experience FREE of CHARGE!!  Notary, Passport Photo, and Fingerprint services will be available for an additional fee.

The NRA Basic Pistol Course is a prerequisite for the NRA Personal Protection courses.

NRA PERSONAL PROTECTION IN THE HOME INSTRUCTOR: This 2 day course includes Basic Instructor Training (BIT) (6hrs) and the PPIH Instructor Course (9hrs) BIT covers NRA policies and procedures, basic public speaking skills, training methodology, use of a training team and training aids, organizing a course, building a budget, and finally preparing to teach. Successful completion of the PPIH Instructor Course certifies you to teach students how to further develop the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and provide information on the law-abiding citizen's right of self defense.
 
Performance evaluated based on the ability to handle firearms with confidence, use of appropriate training aids, following the lesson plans, etc.

Saturday 8am-5pm
Sunday 8am-6pm

Pre-Course qualification is conducted prior to the first range exercise. You must qualify with 9mm or larger semi-automatic or .38 or larger revolver.

Performance evaluated based on the ability to handle firearms with confidence, use of appropriate training aids, following the lesson plans, etc.

Prerequisite: NRA Basic Pistol and Personal Protection In the Home

THIS TWO DAY COURSE IS ESSENTIAL FOR ANYONE WHO CARRYS CONCEALED!

The NRA Personal Protection OUTSIDE the Home (PPOH) is the next level up from NRA Personal Protection INSIDE the Home. The main focus of this course is the effective use of a concealed handgun for self defense on the street. Included are chapters on concealment techniques and devices, presenting the handgun from concealment, utilizing cover and concealment outdoors. This innovative course include presentation and movement, point shooting, instinctive shooting, low-light shooting, engaging multiple targets and one-hand shooting.

These skills and other presented in this course form the core shooting skills used to counter a life-threatening attack outside the home.

The course is divided into two levels: Basic PPOH and ADVANCED PPOH. The Basic Level covers presentation from a concealed holster (or purse), shooting from cover, shooting one-handed, and point shooting. The Advanced Level includes moving while shooting, shooting from low cover, shooting from sitting, turning, prone, low-light and hip-shooting (called the "speed rock"). In total there are seven segments including Strategies for Personal Safety Outside the Home; Carrying a Concealed Handgun and Presenting from Concealment; Developing Basic Defensive Shooting Skills; Developing Concealed Carry Skills; plus the all-important Self-Defense and the Law. The course is a hands-on program with both levels encompassing fourteen hours of classroom and range instruction.

A certificate of training will be awarded for both Basic and Advanced PPOH to all participants who successfully complete the course.

 Prerequisite: NRA Basic Pistol

This course is the next phase in the NRA program after completing Basic Pistol.  The NRA Basic Pistol Course is a prerequisite for this class.

 It is intended to further develop the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and provide information on the law-abiding citizen's right of self defense.

Students must bring their own handgun and ammunition.

The course teaches you the proper mindset and awareness required for effective self defense, plus the fundamentals of defensive marksmanship.

Strategies for home safety and provisions of the law pertaining to use of deadly force for self defense are also covered.

Levels of awareness, defensive mindset, and defensive accuracy are the focus of this day-long course. Shooters will learn to deal with the pressure of "stress fire" and how to compensate for the lack of fine motor skills under duress.

A certificate of training will be awarded to all participants who successfully complete the course.

THIS COURSE IS FREE WITH NO OBLIGATION!  In this approximately 1 hr course we will cover the less lethal option of using a Taser® in self defense, how a Taser® works, and how easy it is to use.  Iowa Residents MUST HAVE a Weapons Carry Permit in order to carry a Taser®.  For you Illinois folks, I am sorry, but Tasers are illegal.  FREE REFRESHMENTS!  Taser packages will be available for purchase.
